On September 2-4 Stars du Nord will host their second annual Nordic food festival in Swedish Lapland. The festival unites Michelin chefs and winemakers from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Iceland to promote Nordic food and wine worldwide. This year’s Stars du Nord celebrates Swedish Lapland’s wild foraged ingredients and the Sámi food culture.
After the grand inauguration in Jukkasjärvi with the Sámi tourism company Nutti Sámi Siida, Stars du Nord will continue to Harads to join forces with the international design hotels Treehotel and Arctic Bath. Together they will embark on a quest to rediscover Nordic nature.
For two evenings the unique forest of Swedish Lapland will be transformed into the wildwood restaurant – MATERIA – as the northern countries’ conscious star chefs from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Iceland join forces for a never-before collaboration.
The result? A 10-star Michelin tasting menu using ingredients sourced within a 200-kilometer radius prepared with natural elements; fire, water, fermentation, and of course, imagination.
All dishes are paired with prestige wine from the Nordic region.
