The UFO was designed to be the most unexpected thing you can encounter in the forest. And what could possibly be more unexpected than a UFO hovering amongst the trees? The room contrasts sharply with the camouflaged bird’s nest by the same architect, Bertil Harström.
The room has been cast in a high-strength composite material in order to create a construction that is light yet as durable as possible.
Inside the UFO you are taken to a space-inspired world with a starry sky in the ceiling and an interior and textiles designed according to the same theme. The room has small windows which let light in and allow you to look out. Here, you can also feel the UFO move, as it is suspended on wires and beams connected to the trees.
The UFO has room for five people, with one double bed and three single beds. It is one of our most popular family rooms, however, it is also suitable for groups of adults, provided that the people sleeping in the single beds are not very tall.
All of the Treehotel tree rooms have incinerating toilets and our sustainable Rukkamoinika water system with 3 litres of water for washing your hands.
You enter the UFO using an electric, collapsible ladder through a hatch in the floor. As with the Bird’s Nest, large suitcases will have to stay in the luggage room.

The Mirrorcube is an exciting hide-out among the trees, camouflaged by mirrored walls reflecting their surroundings.
The base consists of an aluminum frame around the tree trunk and the walls are covered with reflective glass.
The Bird’s nest is built on the contrasts between the outside and inside.
The treeroom’s exterior is nothing but a gigantic bird’s nest. It gives a camouflage so you quickly disappear and become part of the surroundings.
This treeroom’s location was based on the idea of creating a platform high up on a sharp hillside overlooking the Lule River valley.
You can reach the hut from here via a horizontal bridge among the trees. At the front of the bridge is a large wooden deck.
As you near the seventh room from below and look up at the sky, the entire underside of the building is covered by a life size photograph of the treetops as they looked before the room was put in place.
This clever camouflage piques one’s curiosity. What is hiding up there?
While working on the Bird’s Nest, which is largely in harmony with its surroundings, the idea of creating an entirely different environment was born.
And what could be more different than an UFO?
With its 52 square metres and 22 metric tonnes, the Dragonfly is without a doubt our biggest room.
Unique in many ways, this room can function both as a conference space as well as private suite.
The Blue Cone
The Blue Cone is based on simplicity and accessibility, both in terms of material and design.
The room is a traditional wooden structure with three foundations in the ground to give a sense of height and lightness, but also stability.
A warm welcome awaits when you stay at The Guesthouse. Here, you can feel at home in the preserved heritage in each of our unique rooms. And after a day of exploring and activities in our breathtaking nature, come home, kick off your shoes and relax by the fireplace.
